They will pass on to other women the things they have learned at Christian Women’s Job Corps.

Statement of Faith

We believe in the Trinity, God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the Bible as the Word of God. Salvation comes through grace by believing in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, our Savior and Lord. Once saved, the Holy Spirit indwells, thereby instructing, guiding, and empowering the individual to follow the mandate of Jesus Christ in daily living. CWJC, a ministry of WMU, is a response to this mandate.

CWJC Ministry Description:

Overview

Cleburne Christian Women’s Job Corps has been active since 2009. We are located at 401 N. Anglin in Cleburne, Texas. Our job readiness program has a Spring and Fall semester. It equips women for life through a 12-week training program. Participants complete an overview of the Bible. They participate in computer training. They attend classes on topics relate to self-esteem, self-discovery, health, safety, relationships, business, work, and finance. Our participants develop lifelong bonds with fellow participants, Journey Partners, and teachers. They graduate confident in themselves and ready to achieve more with their lives.

Leadership/Governance

Cleburne CWJC has a Board of Directors with an average of 15 men and women from the community. These community members represent several churches, businesses, and community organizations.

What We Do…

Our program offers classes Monday through Thursday each week from 8:30 – 12:30. Each participant is matched with a female Journey Partner who meets with her weekly.

Our Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays have the same format:

8:30-9:00 Morning reading time in which we read the book Boundaries.

9:00-10:00 Bible Study

10:15-11:15 Computer classes that work on Word, Excel, and Power Point

11:30-12:30 Lifeskills training taught by community experts

Our Thursdays include an hour-long book study on Choosing Forgiveness instead of Bible Study, as well as computer classes and community speakers. From 12:30-1:30, we celebrate the week with a luncheon shared with our Journey Partners.

We take a field trip to an area college and participate in a community service project. Our ladies participate in mock interviews and are placed in 2-day internships. Each participant presents her testimony on stage at graduation.

Financial Support

The Southwest Metroplex Baptist Association donates approximately $650 a year through the Women’s Missionary Union funds. First Baptist Church provides our building; we just pay utilities. All other funds come from fundraising and private donors.
